All throughout the world there are people who are hurting. They are hurting from being unable to secure their daily necessities. Or they are suffering from a government regime that is indifferent to their distress. Some people are hurting as a result of natural disasters that have overwhelmed the country’s ability to respond.
In each of these circumstances, a practical expression of Christ’s love speaks louder than the best sermon. NDI’s national partners recognize the opportunity available for advancing the kingdom of God by lovingly supplying a real need in their neighbors’ lives. By helping those that cannot help themselves, our national partners are incarnating their faith for observers to take notice and glorify God in heaven.
NDI operates from the belief that today’s child can be shaped into tomorrow’s leader. So our desire is to minister the Gospel of Christ, along with practical help, to neglected and orphaned children in the two-thirds world. Our hope is to impact the young generation that can one day transform an entire nation for Christ.
In many cultures, the care of children is an afterthought. Many parents view children as property assets instead of family. In these settings if the child is not abandoned then she is certainly neglected or abused. You add this mentality to the reality of the tens of millions of children already orphaned and you have millions of children looking for some kind of hope.
NDI is intervening in the lives of these children in very poor countries to preserve physical life, instill spiritual life, and create educational opportunities. Some of our national partners are helping children through orphan homes, feeding and literacy programs. These orphans and under-privileged children are not only given food but also instructed in the Word of God and academics.
Even though NDI is helping over 1000 children daily, NDI’s help for the hurting does not stop at children. Through your support our partners are also assisting widows, homeless or displaced families, and providing safe water sources for entire villages and communities.
