Help the cyclone victims now...
New Directions International is answering the cries for help from the people of Myanmar. Through the network of our national partner based in the capital city Yangon (Rangoon), NDI is helping to distribute food and water. The official death toll is almost 30,000 with another 45,000 people missing. Outside aid has been very slow to reach those that need it the most because of bureaucracy. Please help NDI’s national partner and his team share Christ’s love with their neighbors.
Our national partner sent us this update Thursday morning:
Thank you very much for your email, concern and prayers.
Yes, the Cyclone storm has destroyed badly Rangoon and many other towns for eleven hours on the third of May. Many houses have been destroyed and damaged badly. We never thought that we would survive, but God is so good that we are safe, praise be the Name of the Lord. Now in Rangoon no electric city, no water, every prices have gone up. Most of the shops have been closed for fear of people. Rangoon is now dark and very difficult to live. Please pray for this critical need. Please help us as soon as possible. And as the Lord speaks to your heart please help us soon.
Our ministry partner in Myanmar has a Bible training center and several children’s homes throughout the country. He is raising up itinerant church planters to establish churches in the 15 different states and divisions among the least reached people groups of Myanmar.
Your gift will be instantly sent to our national partner to help distribute food and safe water to those that need it most desperately. Please make your most generous gift today to help the cyclone victims in Myanmar survive. The situation is critical and because NDI partners with national ministry leaders already inside the country, we can help the people of Myanmar right now. So please don’t delay and respond today. On behalf of the people of Myanmar, we thank you for your assistance.
In Christ’s Compassion,
Joseph Williams
