Helping "Homeless" Congregations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America
Sometimes they crowd into people’s homes. Sometimes they’re able to rent a small space and pack it to standing room only. When the weather is conducive, they may meet out in an open field or under the shade of trees.
They’re “homeless congregations,” unable to afford a church building in which they can hold services and minister to the local community. And with the Gospel spreading rapidly among the nations of Africa, Asia, and Latin America, the need for church buildings is increasing dramatically.
New Directions International desires to stand in the gap for these “homeless” congregations. By partnering them with benevolent sponsors from missions-minded churches and individuals in the US, NDI has been instrumental in constructing over 400 church buildings over the past 15 years.
For as little as $7,000, you, your church, Sunday school class or small group can provide a church home for a congregation in Africa, Asia, or Latin America. The total cost of the church can be broken down into installments over the course of a year.
Join NDI in advancing the Kingdom of Christ by equipping congregations with a center for worship and evangelism. The impact of your sponsorship will be as far-reaching as eternity.
Why is a Church Building so Important to a Congregation in Africa, Asia, or Latin America?
In these regions of the world where the Good News of the Gospel is spreading rapidly, the need for church buildings is growing constantly. Unlike the house church of China, which depends on secrecy, the majority of congregations that NDI is in partnership with are greatly benefited through having a public and permanent church structure. In some cases, NDI has witnessed congregations grow10-fold due to the establishment of a church building.
Here are a few reasons why constructing church building is so important for the "homeless congregations" in Africa, Asia, and Latin America:
Basic protection from the elements,
Gives the ministry an “established” presence in the community,
Becomes a central sending-out point for evangelism,
Enables the church to host community events,
Provides a center for training and equipping the Body of Christ,
Directly impacts ministry potential, and
Enhances witness to unbelievers.
